King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSHRC) - Jeddah

One of the items on a balanced scorecard that I would monitor in my unit is nursing satisfaction such as working with other team members and nursing scholarship opportunities. Since the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSHRC) value statement is "Teamwork: We work well together to ensure that knowledge and wisdom are shared for the benefit of all". Therefore, sharing knowledge and helping each other are important qualities of good nursing teamwork. However,  not all the nurses in the team get along with each other that’s may affect their job satisfaction which lead to nursing burn out. In addition to the teamwork, the opportunity to continue a higher education; the KFSHRC mission statement is to provide the highest level of specialized healthcare in an integrated educational and research setting. The education has been growing in Saudi Arabia so fast especially in the medical field for continually improving in patient care and in the hospital system. However, increase the number of nurses want to pursue a higher education made the scholarship hard to get through the hospital. Nurses spend years trying to get a scholarship and some of them leave their work because of what they know from other nurses who are waiting or probably stay in the same position without having the opportunity to change in what they want to achieve for their future. Saudi Nurses talking about the important of nursing as a profession in KFSHRC.
